Entries must have been published, broadcast or posted online between 16 July 2018 and 15 July 2019. Independent committees of journalists select the winning entries. We present two awards in each category: a Gold Award for $5,000 and a Silver Award of $3,500. The categories are large newspaper, small newspaper, magazine, video spot news or feature, video in-depth, audio (radio or podcast), online and children’s science news.
